Trump says Iran war "close to over" amid hopes for more negotiations
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.96% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV:ORBIA), which rose 4.83% or 0.61 points to trade at 13.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Televisa SAB Unit (BMV:TLEVISACPO) added 4.32% or 0.38 points to end at 9.18 and America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:AMXB) was up 3.08% or 0.56 points to 18.73 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO), which fell 1.90% or 0.39 points to trade at 20.10 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV:GAPB) declined 1.47% or 6.85 points to end at 458.29 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (BMV:OMAB) was down 1.42% or 3.59 points to 248.88.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 177 to 70 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in America Movil SAB de CV M (BMV:AMXB) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.08% or 0.56 to 18.73.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.02% or 34.65 to $3,416.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.36% or 0.23 to hit $63.75 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.12 to trade at $67.79 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.81% to 18.58, while EUR/MXN rose 0.11% to 21.78.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.92% at 97.60.
